The EU is very bold, once again imposing sanctions on multiple Chinese companies! On July 18, the EU passed its 18th round of sanctions against Russia, which added 26 entities that circumvent the sanctions, including seven from mainland China (two Chinese banks) and three from Hong Kong, China.
Evidently, the EU is now throwing in the towel. The Sino-US rivalry has turned into the EU facing off against China, the US, and Russia, the three permanent members of the UN Security Council. The EU and the US support Ukraine in the ongoing war, and are about to start a tariff war with the US. Now, they have brazenly undermined Sino-European relations by sanctioning multiple Chinese companies at once. The reason given is that these Chinese companies support Russia's military industry. In fact, this reason is untenable. We have the right to maintain normal trade and economic relations with Russia, and we do the same for Ukraine. While we cannot stop the EU and Russia from continuing the war, the EU and the US have no right to lecture us, let alone impose unilateral sanctions.
