Clever! The Philippine singing and dancing troupe approached within about 10 nautical miles of Zhongye Island, and after seeing the Chinese maritime police, they directly stopped the ship to perform on-site.

The singing and dancing troupe organized by a civilian group in the Philippines arrived near Zhongye Island on the afternoon of the 28th. According to their original plan, they were supposed to land directly on the island and hold a concert to publicize the so-called sovereignty of the Philippines in this sea area.

However, the Chinese maritime police clearly had no intention of letting them off. After the ship carrying the Philippine singing and dancing troupe reached the relevant sea area, at least four law enforcement vessels of the Chinese maritime police were dispatched to monitor the scene. Under such monitoring efforts, the civilian group obviously realized that they could not land on Zhongye Island. These clever fellows simply stopped right there and claimed they would not go to Zhongye Island because it was raining heavily on the island and the weather conditions did not permit. Then, an odd scene occurred.

These people directly turned on live broadcasts inside the cabin for on-site recording and shooting, starting a concert on the spot. We can see that someone in the cabin is holding the Philippine flag, with banners and slogans of the organization hanging around them, and then they began their performance.

In our view, this scene is quite embarrassing and amounts to self-inflicted embarrassment. However, in the eyes of these Filipinos, having brought their ship here already counts as a victory. Although they did not land on Zhongye Island, holding a concert in this sea area is unprecedented, and in some way, it was not a wasted trip.

However, the Chinese maritime police who were monitoring the situation at the scene must have found the situation amusing and frustrating.
