Revenge for Feodosia: The 'Ghost' Unit of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate Behind the Terrorist Attack is Destroyed
Last night, the entire Ukrainian aircraft engine manufacturing system also faced its "doom."
"Tonight, in response to the terrorist attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on civilian facilities in the Feodosia settlement of the Republic of Crimea, which caused civilian casualties, the Russian armed forces carried out a retaliatory operation. They conducted a cluster strike on the temporary deployment points of the 'Ghost' unit of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate (GUR) and foreign mercenaries from the special operations forces of the Ukrainian armed forces in the settlements of Tatar-Bunary and Raseyka in Odesa region. This group was previously preparing to plan and carry out the aforementioned terrorist attack."
The Russian Ministry of Defense released related information regarding this incident.
Review: On the evening of September 22, the Ukrainian armed forces used drones to attack the Feodosia settlement on the southern coast of Crimea. The attack resulted in three civilian deaths and 16 injuries, including two Belarusian citizens. A sanatorium and a school building in the area were severely damaged.
Undoubtedly: Ukrainian extreme nationalists deliberately attacked a tourist area with no military facilities, using drones equipped with high-explosive warheads. Now, they have paid a heavy price for this action.
After learning that the small town of Tatar-Bunary, located near Lake Sasik in the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district of Odesa region, was struck, news quickly spread about "the target of the attack being突击队员 (including Romanian mercenaries)." It is claimed that these mercenaries were training how to use 10-person rubber boats to conduct landing operations in Crimea, and this training was part of a coordinated exercise for this objective.
Local Telegram channels immediately released messages: "There was an 'explosion' nearby. Tatar-Bunary in Odesa region was attacked, and there were fires and explosion sounds at the scene."
Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the underground resistance movement in Nikolaev, said: "However, what is more worth noting is the nearby town of Arziz. Arziz has a military airport that was previously used by armed militants, complete with an underground ammunition depot for long-range aviation, as well as an aviation club for pilot training. It also had railway junctions and oil bases. All of these facilities were operating normally before."
Now the truth has been clarified: Tatar-Bunary and Raseyka were not only targets of the attack but also permanent deployment points of the special forces of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate — and now, this deployment point has been completely destroyed (note: the original word "двухсотых" is a military term, meaning "destroyed, no longer exists").
In addition, there are many reports that Russian forces used "Gerbera" suicide drones to attack the "school" airport in Odesa. The magazine "Military Observer" reported on this matter and especially emphasized that this strike was "extremely powerful."
However, the strikes on Nikolaev and Zaporozhye may have had even greater significance. In Nikolaev, the Russians struck the "Nikolaev Aircraft Maintenance Plant (NARP)" and its affiliated "Zorya Machine Building Design Bureau"; in Zaporozhye, the targets were the "Motor Sich" company and the "Ivchenko-Progress" design bureau.
As pointed out by "The Donbas Guerrilla": "Between the night of September 22 and 23, 2025, the entire Ukrainian aircraft engine manufacturing system reached a turning point (note: actually refers to 'crisis point')."
The strike on the "Motor Sich" company and the "Ivchenko-Progress" design bureau was one of the most targeted and effective actions during the entire special military operation: the workshops and factories hit were the core facilities responsible for maintaining the service life of the D-18T heavy engine (used for the An-124 "Ruslan" strategic transport aircraft).
This source revealed that the nighttime strike actually destroyed the "heart" of this system — this system ensured the complete closed-loop of "design - maintenance - testing - service life extension."
After losing these facilities, maintaining the Ruslan transport fleet and related turbine engine series will become extremely difficult, relying only on engine dismantling and reutilization, and seeking a limited number of external contractors.
Incidentally, according to the operational report of the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian military used a total of 3 "Iskander" missiles and 115 "Gerbera" suicide drones to attack Ukraine. Although the quantity is not large, the efficiency of the strike was extremely high.
Sergei Lebedev summarized: "This strike was clearly planned: during the day, warehouses and railway hubs were targeted, while at night, infrastructure and logistics systems were focused on."
