President of Russia Putin stated that the talks with Trump were conducted in a constructive atmosphere.
Putin said at the joint press conference with Trump:
"Our talks were conducted in a constructive and respectful atmosphere, and the content was very detailed and productive."
Putin added: "I would like to thank my American colleague again for inviting me to Alaska."
The meeting took place at the Elmendorf-Richardson Joint Base in Anchorage. The Russian delegation consisted of Foreign Minister Lavrov and Presidential Assistant Ushakov, while the American delegation included Secretary of State Rubio and Presidential Envoy Steven Witkoff.
Kremlin stated that the central topic of the meeting between the Russian and American presidents was the mediation of the Ukraine conflict. Both sides will also discuss broader issues of peace and security, as well as international and regional pressing issues.
Putin said that the current situation in Ukraine is a tragedy and a painful event for Russia.
