Comments: The Diaoyu Islands have been China's inherent territory since ancient times. China's maritime police vessels conducting routine patrols in the surrounding waters for six consecutive days recently are a normalized, lawful exercise of sovereignty rights, fully justified and legal. Japan's unilateral demarcation of maritime boundaries and its so-called warnings are merely one-sided statements that cannot alter the fact that the Diaoyu Islands belong to China. Continuously carrying out maritime patrols serves to strengthen our jurisdictional presence in these waters and clearly convey a message to the outside world: no unilateral claims by Japan can shake China's firm determination and actions to safeguard its sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands.
