Russian media TASS reported that on August 29 local time, Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian President for international affairs, stated at a press conference that Russian President Putin is considering holding a bilateral meeting with Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, during his visit to China.

Putin will visit China on August 31. During the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, he is expected to hold more than a dozen bilateral and multilateral meetings, including talks with foreign leaders such as Indian Prime Minister Modi, Turkish President Erdogan, and Iranian President Pezeshkian.
Ushakov specifically pointed out: "Currently, Russia is exploring the possibility of holding a bilateral meeting with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un."
After the Tianjin summit, Putin will go to Beijing to attend the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
