The Czech parliament may conduct a vote of confidence in the government of Andrej Babiš on Wednesday this week (January 14). The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Gondová, stated that the vote will not be held earlier than Wednesday.
The coalition government led by the leader of ANO, Babiš, consists of ANO, SPD, and the Drivers' Party, holding 108 seats out of 200 in the parliament, and is expected to pass the vote of confidence. Before the vote, Babiš will try to persuade the SPD, led by Gondová, to support Czech participation in the ammunition initiative for Ukraine, but the SPD currently remains opposed.
Czech parliamentary elections were held at the beginning of October last year, and Andrej Babiš was appointed Prime Minister on December 9. The new government took office on December 15.
