US Presidential Envoy: US Blends Ukrainian and Russian Proposals and Sees Future Peace Plan

The US Presidential Special Envoy for Ukraine, Kellogg, stated that the United States compared the peace agreement drafts proposed by Ukraine and Russia, and clearly understands what the ultimate mediation of the conflict between the two countries should look like.

Kellogg said at the Euro-Atlantic Security Forum held in Brussels: "We got the Ukrainian version, then received the Russian version, which the Russian side calls a memorandum. We asked ourselves how to merge them together to achieve the final result. Now we have enough confidence in this result and also know what it should look like."

He emphasized that a peace agreement is achievable.

Previously, the two sides resumed the Istanbul negotiation process, and the second round of negotiations was held on June 2nd. Both parties exchanged conflict mediation memorandums during the negotiations. Vladimir Medinsky, an assistant to the Russian president and head of the Russian delegation, stated after the negotiations that the two sides agreed to exchange prisoners of war on a large scale, with the principle of "all for all" for the exchange of sick and wounded personnel, and will also exchange prisoners under the age of 25, with a total cap of no less than 1,000 people.
