Chinese astronauts successfully entered outer space for the 19th time on May 22.
The two Shenzhou-20 astronauts worked outside the low Earth orbit laboratory for eight hours.
Astronauts Chen Dong and Chen Zhongrui served as spacewalkers for this extravehicular activity, while their teammate Wang Jie assisted inside the Tiangong, with mission operators coordinating from Earth.
Dong and Zhongrui entered the space station via the docking cabin of the Tianhe core module, marking the first time the airlock has been used for a spacewalk since Tiangong began operations.
This is the 19th extravehicular activity conducted by Shenzhou spacecraft astronauts, with many of these activities focused on installing debris shields on the exterior of the spacecraft. With the help of the spacecraft's robotic arm, the Shenzhou astronauts successfully placed the protective film at the designated external position on the Shenzhou spacecraft.
The Shenzhou-20 crew arrived at Tiangong on April 24 and have just begun their six-month mission.
