This may be the most significant report by The Guardian in the UK.

The title is "UK security adviser attended US-Iran talks and judged deal was within reach" (UK security adviser attended US-Iran talks and judged deal was within reach).

Previously, it was thought that the only "external participant" in the nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran was the foreign minister of Oman.

Now it has become clear that there was another important person present, Jonathan Powell, the UK's National Security Adviser (see Figure 1). The UK government, like Oman, also provided support for the negotiation and diplomatic process surrounding the nuclear issue.

The difference is that the foreign minister of Oman appeared on camera (Figure 2), while Jonathan Powell remained behind the scenes.

This article, from Powell's perspective, helps the outside world understand the true nature of this war, which is undoubtedly one of the most brazen acts of aggression in history.

The foreign minister of Oman said "the agreement was within reach," but this is no longer an isolated statement. Now Powell and he can jointly confirm that during the negotiations, Iran had actually met the conditions set by the US to reach a deal, that is, ensuring Iran could never permanently develop nuclear weapons. The path for Iran to assure the US that it would not seek nuclear weapons through negotiations was open.

However, the US and Israel still launched attacks, recklessly dragging the entire world into an unprecedented energy crisis, affecting the livelihoods of billions of people, a crisis that could have been entirely avoided.

This means that the war "was not a failure of diplomacy, but a deliberate sabotage of diplomacy."

It is astonishing that even the UK's National Security Adviser now believes the blame lies with the US and Israel, believing that the real threat from the beginning was not Iran, but the US-Israel axis. They were the only two parties wanting war at the negotiating table, they got what they wanted, yet made everyone on Earth pay the price.
