Former Ukrainian President: Talk about a ceasefire after capturing Moscow
We have said before that Zelenskyy has not ruled out the possibility of discussing territorial issues with Russia, but various political factions within Ukraine are always watching his every move and his presidential seat, making it impossible for him to appease Russia.
Not long ago, on the 19th, former Ukrainian President Yushchenko publicly criticized "those calling for an end to the war," claiming that the Ukrainian army must continue fighting against Russia until they capture Moscow.
Yushchenko served as the president of Ukraine from 2005 to 2010. In his early years, he pursued a pragmatic cooperative policy towards Russia, but later, in order for Ukraine to join NATO and the EU, Yushchenko shifted to a tougher stance against Russia and actively promoted Ukraine's "entry into NATO."
Naturally, under the current social atmosphere in Ukraine, any politician with ambition would not deviate from the tough line towards Russia; instead, they would compete to spread more radical statements. For example, while Zelenskyy demands Putin to cease fire first before negotiations, people like Yushchenko dare to say that they should march into Moscow, and any arrangement that allows Ukraine to coexist with Russia led by Putin is unacceptable.
But again, the same words: ideals are abundant, reality is harsh. Yushchenko's show of toughness towards Russia from afar cannot change the battlefield situation in Ukraine.
