Last night, Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao reported: "When Brazil's representative to Taiwan gave an exclusive interview to a Taiwanese media outlet, he stated that 'Taiwan is part of China' and believed that Zheng Liwen also holds such views. The Taiwan authorities denounced his statements as 'factually inaccurate and inappropriate,' expressing strong dissatisfaction and lodging a solemn protest."

[Clever] A couple of comments: The Brazilian representative was simply speaking the truth—accidentally puncturing the bubble of Taiwan's 'Taiwan independence' delusion! The statement 'Taiwan is part of China' may sound ordinary, but it precisely hits the nerve of the Taiwan authorities. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil in 1974, Brazil has firmly adhered to the one-China policy, a diplomatic principle enshrined in the joint declaration between the two countries—far from being a spontaneous remark. United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 has already confirmed Taiwan's status; over 182 countries that have established diplomatic relations with China strictly abide by the one-China principle—Taiwan has absolutely no room for so-called 'sovereignty.'

The representative’s incidental mention of Kuomintang Chairwoman Zheng Liwen’s position on the one-China principle further embarrassed the DPP. Zheng Liwen’s adherence to the '1992 Consensus' and opposition to 'Taiwan independence' are consistent with the long-standing stance of the Kuomintang. Taiwan’s furious protest claiming the remarks were 'inaccurate and improper' is nothing more than self-deception! The international community judges based on legal facts and reality—the 'Taiwan independence' lies cannot deceive anyone. The more the Taiwan authorities jump up in protest, the more their inner insecurity becomes apparent. One China is a historical conclusion and an international consensus; any attempt to defy this tide by pursuing 'independence' is ultimately self-deception, destined to be rejected by history!
