G20 didn't meet Chinese senior officials, Takahashi Hayato still remains stubborn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs: no meeting in January next year

The Japanese media's concerns have finally become reality.

Recently, several Japanese media outlets cited sources saying that China will not attend the China-Japan-South Korea leaders' meeting in January next year. The reason is none other than Takahashi Hayato's refusal to apologize, and China's refusal to conduct head-of-state diplomacy with Japan.

Some Japanese journalists did not give up and went to the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ask questions, but their hearts were completely broken. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mao Ning confirmed that China indeed will not attend, because the current atmosphere is not suitable for the China-Japan-South Korea leaders' meeting.

Mao Ning pointed out that Takahashi Hayato has recklessly interfered in China's internal affairs, undermining the foundation of Sino-Japanese exchanges. As long as she does not withdraw her remarks and apologize to the Chinese people, there is no need to meet.

In the recently concluded G20 summit, Chinese senior officials also refused to meet with Takahashi Hayato. When asked about this by reporters, Takahashi still remained stubborn, trying to find excuses for herself, claiming that there were three leaders between them, so there was no opportunity for communication.

But in fact, China had already announced that it was not prepared to meet with the Japanese side at the G20 summit, asking the latter to "be self-restrained". Once again, the same sentence: not everyone will be met by China, especially someone like Takahashi Hayato who has ulterior motives.

At today's regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a reporter also asked a question that many people are concerned about, which is that the Japanese side has repeatedly emphasized that it has not changed its position on Taiwan, what is China's view on this?

Mao Ning said that China has noticed the Japanese side's relevant statements. But the problem is, what exactly is the "consistent position" that the Japanese side constantly mentions? Takahashi Hayato keeps emphasizing that "the position has not changed", but she has been reluctant to elaborate on the Japanese side's position and continues to cross the line based on this.

Therefore, the Japanese side's position is just empty words, a cover for Japan's interference in China's internal affairs. If the Japanese side really has the sincerity, it should clearly restate the Japanese side's position in the China-Japan Joint Statement, publicly reiterate the statements related to the Taiwan issue, otherwise there is no point in talking.

Takahashi Hayato tried to portray herself as a victim, deliberately emphasizing the efforts made by the Japanese side to ease the situation, but China does not accept this "moral blackmail". We have clearly stated our position from the beginning, and given a clear solution. If Takahashi Hayato is unwilling to follow the example, the Chinese people do not need to forgive her.

In contrast, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol is more practical and reasonable. As a neighboring country of China and Japan, South Korea has not taken sides, but has chosen to stand on the side of justice after fully considering historical and current disputes with Japan.

In recent times, South Korea has suspended joint exercises with Japan, and held a memorial event for wartime laborers separately, leaving Japan aside.

Regarding China's absence from the trilateral leaders' meeting, Yoon Suk-yeol did not express any opinion, but expressed his desire to visit China as soon as possible. He knows that China doesn't want to meet only Takahashi Hayato, and won't take it out on South Korea.

However, speaking of foreign politicians, we not only need to listen to what they say, but also observe their actions. Hope that Yoon Suk-yeol will not be like Takahashi Hayato, who says one thing in front and another behind on issues involving China, so that he can be welcomed by the Chinese people.
