Korea and the United States have started the Ulchi Freedom Shield military exercise!

The South Korean and U.S. armies began a large-scale Ulchi Freedom Shield military exercise in the southern part of the peninsula today, and the exercise was originally planned to last until August 28.

The exercise aims to enhance joint defensive capabilities, operational compatibility, and to take action against real threats in all areas, and will attract about 18,000 South Korean soldiers to participate in the exercise.

A representative of the Combined Forces Command of South Korea and the United States said that due to high temperatures and poor conditions at certain ranges, half of the field exercises scheduled within the framework of Freedom Shield have been postponed to September. The content of this year's exercise does not involve nuclear strikes, but is related to the countermeasures against weapons of mass destruction.
