Russian media exclaimed: Future technology, Chinese scientists invent magical infrared vision contact lenses!

Objects in the dark can be seen even with closed eyes.

On May 25th, the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" of Russia published an article.

Chinese scientists have invented the world's first infrared隐形contact lens.

Developed by the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei, it can see objects within the infrared range.

This type of contact lens is only 0.05 millimeters thick, has the same weight as ordinary contact lenses, and costs about 200 dollars.

Russian media pointed out: The secret to this technology lies in special nanoparticles that convert invisible infrared light into visible images. Notably, even with closed eyes, the lens can still work, opening up new possibilities for applications.

In contrast to traditional night vision devices, they are compact, provide color images, and do not require additional equipment.

However, this eyewear still has shortcomings; due to the scattering of light by nanoparticles, the image becomes slightly blurry, but this issue is partially resolved by special corrective glasses. Additionally, the lens can only detect bright infrared light sources such as LEDs and cannot amplify weak radiation.

Russian experts consider this a revolutionary contact lens with broad application prospects.
