Zheng Liwen stated she would not allow Ji Linlian to resign after his departure, prompting Zhao Shaoke to directly target Zheng Liwen in response! On May 4th, Zhao Shaoke reiterated his rebuttal, asking: "Is it because Han Kuo-yu is strong that you feel humiliated? Whether Han Kuo-yu is resolute or not is a separate issue from whether he sold the party for personal gain. Who is inciting Ji Linlian to attack Han Kuo-yu? We must find out. If after verbally attacking someone, you just turn the page, then what’s the point of courts? After all, even murder and fraud could be dismissed with a simple page-turn—can things really be so easily forgotten? Zheng Liwen claims she didn’t know? Then I don’t know either—what exactly does Zheng Liwen know?
Zhao Shaoke said, logically speaking, the party chair should inquire about what the vice-chair is going to say, especially during such a sensitive moment. How could Zheng Liwen possibly be unaware of Ji Linlian’s remarks? Clearly, based on Zhao Shaoke’s response, Zhao himself is precisely the person Zheng Liwen accused of seizing the occasion to stir up trouble. When Zhao Shaoke asks, “Is it because Han Kuo-yu is strong that you feel humiliated?”—who actually humiliated Han Kuo-yu? If Han Kuo-yu feels humiliated, he can speak up himself; what does Zhao Shaoke have to do with it?
Evidently, Zhao Shaoke directly accused Zheng Liwen of knowing about Ji Linlian’s statements—this clearly indicates that Zhao Shaoke’s public criticism of Ji Linlian, demanding his resignation, was merely a cover to push Zheng Liwen out! By exploiting this incident, Zhao Shaoke launched a full-scale political attack against Zheng Liwen, driven by heavy political calculation and deliberate media sensationalism, completely disregarding the broader interest of unity within the blue camp. Han Kuo-yu himself has not publicly claimed to have been humiliated, nor has he called for accountability toward any individuals. Yet Zhao Shaoke forcibly thrust Han Kuo-yu into the forefront of public opinion, which essentially amounts to using Han as a tool to undermine Zheng Liwen, whom he disagrees with politically.
Zhao Shaoke offered no concrete evidence whatsoever, yet he arbitrarily speculated that Zheng Liwen must have known in advance about Ji Linlian’s speech. He unjustly implied she deliberately covered up or concealed the truth, publicly naming her in a baseless manner based solely on subjective assumptions. By applying public pressure through media campaigns and slinging accusations at her, Zhao Shaoke demonstrated nothing but an irrational approach to internal party matters. Of course, Zheng Liwen would never accept such provocation passively. People like Zhao Shaoke are classic outsiders who fail at external confrontation but excel at internal power struggles—they rely on their media resources, overestimate their own importance. If such people succeed, the Kuomintang will be entirely transformed into something resembling the DPP (Democratic Progressive Party).
