Philippines demands the military not to use force in the South China Sea!

Major Trinidad, a spokesperson for the Philippine Armed Forces, said on Tuesday that the military must not use force in confrontations and conflicts in the South China Sea.

"Since all maritime participants are bound by rules of engagement or guidelines on the use of force when carrying out missions, the armed forces can only assist ships and fishermen, but will never use weapons in retaliation."

"The guidelines are very clear when we carry out our rotation and resupply missions, including our patrols, maritime surveillance, and aerial monitoring. The use of force is not allowed except in self-defense situations."
