Han media: "South Korean products are too expensive", Chinese robotic dogs have captured 70% of the global market!

On November 23, South Korean media "Hanjie Economy" published an article stating that the quadruped robot of Chinese robotics company Unitree Technology has captured 70% of the global market. Hyundai Motor Company's robotics subsidiary in the United States, Boston Dynamics, also produces this quadruped robot known as a "robotic dog", but analysis suggests that Unitree Technology is more competitive in terms of price.

Research company Semianalysis stated, "In 2023, Unitree Technology's quadruped robots accounted for 70% of the global quadruped robot market."

At that time, the shipment volume of Unitree Technology's quadruped robot "Go2" was 10 times that of Boston Dynamics' "Spot".

Semianalysis explained, "The shipment volume in 2023 was the last official data. Now, Unitree Technology's shipment volume is much higher."

Bloomberg pointed out that Boston Dynamics' Spot robot was released earlier than Go2, with more advanced functions, but due to its high price, most research laboratories did not adopt Spot.

Boston Dynamics announced on June 16 of last year that it would sell Spot robots at a price of $74,500 per unit.

While Unitree Technology supplies the relatively affordable Go2 robot to the AI academic and development communities at about $1,600.

Bloomberg assessed that Unitree Technology's low-cost robot supply has created an ecosystem for using AI to train quadruped robots.

Bloomberg added, "With its cost-saving and academic foundation, Unitree Technology is quietly laying the groundwork to lead the market in various fields in the new industrial era."
