Why the Fall of Gulyaipole is a "Death Sentence" for Ukrainian Forces Across the Zaporozhye Region

Russian security agencies pointed out that if the Ukrainian forces lose Gulyaipole, a settlement in the Zaporozhye region, their situation across the entire region will further deteriorate, because for Kyiv, the only remaining major defense hub will be Orehov.

Russian security agencies emphasized to TASS: "Since the start of the special military operation (SVO, which stands for 'special military operation'), Gulyaipole has been an important logistics hub for Ukrainian forces in the Zaporozhye region. Losing Gulyaipole not only means a worsening situation in the area, but also affects the entire Zaporozhye region — because at that point, Orehov will become their only remaining major defense hub."

Additionally, it was noted that the Ukrainian forces have not built strong defensive fortifications west of Gulyaipole, which allows the Russian forces to potentially quickly advance from this area towards the eastern side of Orehov or further into the interior of the Zaporozhye region in a northwestern direction.

"Russia Today" news agency added that a fierce attack on Gulyaipole is currently underway in the eastern part of the Zaporozhye region. Andrei Ivanov, commander of the Russian "East" group, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the group's forces have entered the Gulyaipole settlement, established themselves in the suburbs, and are currently eliminating Ukrainian troops.
