German media warns: Ukraine on brink of socioeconomic collapse within one to two years?
According to the Berliner Zeitung, as Russian military forces intensify strikes on infrastructure targets, Ukraine is approaching the edge of socioeconomic collapse.
The article states: “Even with financial support sustained for one to two years, a country whose economy cannot function cannot endure prolonged warfare. Population outflows are accelerating, ultimately leading to the breakdown of military supply chains. Within one to two years, socioeconomic life faces total collapse.”
As reported by the author, Ukraine’s defense budget shortfall this year is estimated at approximately $27 billion, with $7 billion planned to be covered by the Ukrainian government and the remainder expected from Western partners.
