China will launch four spacecraft, including Mengzhou No. 1, next year, and astronauts will conduct long-term stay tests of more than one year.

Next year, China will organize and implement four flight missions: Tianzhou No. 10, Shenzhou No. 22, Shenzhou No. 23, and Mengzhou No. 1. Among them, the Mengzhou No. 1 crewed spacecraft and the Long March 10A launch vehicle used for its launch will both make their debut flights. On November 1, the China Manned Space Engineering Office launched an activity to collect logos for these four flight missions.

According to the mission plan, China will successively launch the Shenzhou No. 22 and Shenzhou No. 23 crewed spacecraft at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center next year. Each flight crew will consist of three astronauts. After being launched into space, the Shenzhou No. 22 crewed spacecraft will dock with the radial port of the core module of the space station, while the Shenzhou No. 23 crewed spacecraft will dock with the forward port of the core module of the space station.

It is understood that during the two crewed flight missions, the main tasks include: one astronaut from the Shenzhou No. 22 flight crew will carry out a long-term stay test of more than one year, perform extravehicular activities and cargo airlock chamber extravehicular tasks, continue to conduct space science experiments and technical trials, manage the space station platform, carry out astronaut support-related work, and important activities such as popular science education.

In addition, China plans to launch the Tianzhou No. 10 cargo spacecraft and the Mengzhou No. 1 crewed spacecraft at the Wenchang Aerospace Launch Site next year. After the launch of the Tianzhou No. 10 cargo spacecraft, it will dock with the aft port of the core module of the space station. Its main task is to transport supplies for the astronauts' stay, spacesuits, etc., maintenance spare parts and propellants to ensure the safe operation of the platform, application mission various payloads and samples; and to return and destroy waste materials in orbit.

The Mengzhou crewed spacecraft is a new generation of crewed spacecraft that has been comprehensively upgraded based on the Shenzhou crewed spacecraft. It uses a modular design, consisting of a reentry capsule and a service module, used for space station Earth-space transportation. The Mengzhou No. 1 crewed spacecraft will be launched for the first time using the Long March 10A launch vehicle. After being launched into space, it will dock with the radial port of the core module of the space station. Its main purpose is to verify the full system working status of the Mengzhou crewed spacecraft, deliver environmental evaluation equipment and supplies, technical verification products and stay supplies, application field experimental modules, and research devices.

Since the Shenzhou No. 5 mission in 2003, each crewed flight mission has been designed with a mission logo. Since 2023, every year, public participation has been openly solicited for the logo of the annual manned spaceflight mission.
