[Zakharova Rebuts Polish FM's Remarks on Vladivostok]
On April 24, the Vzglyad newspaper reported that Russian Foreign Ministry official spokeswoman Zakharova said that Polish FM Sikorski's remarks about Russia's territory, including Vladivostok, were "self-contradictory." Previously, Sikorski stated that Moscow could never "rule" Kiev, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn, and Chisinau. He indicated that Moscow should focus on its own territories, especially Vladivostok, which he referred to in Chinese as "Vladivostok."
Zakharova suggested that Sikorski deal with NATO's unresolved issues first: such as the ownership of Greenland, instability in New Caledonia caused by French policies, human rights violations in the Baltic states, and Germany's economic recession. Zakharova said, "NATO cannot understand these issues without Poland's participation. After he resolves all of NATO's problems, let him move on to the EU's issues."
