Kazakh International News Agency - According to a report by Kazakh Press Agency's reporter in Tashkent, Kazakhstan remains one of Uzbekistan's three main trade partners in the first eight months of this year.
Data released by the Uzbekistan State Statistics Committee shows that from January to August 2025, the country's foreign trade volume reached 51.4 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 19.8% compared to the same period last year. Currently, Uzbekistan has established trade relations with 200 countries around the world.
China remains the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan, with bilateral trade exceeding 9.7 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 18.9% of Uzbekistan's total foreign trade. Russia ranks second with a share of 16.1%, and the total import and export volume exceeds 8.3 billion U.S. dollars.
Kazakhstan ranks third, with bilateral trade exceeding 3 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 5.9% of Uzbekistan's total foreign trade, an increase of 605.1 million U.S. dollars compared to the same period last year. During the same period, Uzbekistan's exports to Kazakhstan amounted to 910.8 million U.S. dollars, and imports from Kazakhstan exceeded 2.1 billion U.S. dollars.
According to previous reports, Temur Ishmetov, Governor of the Uzbekistan Central Bank, recently announced that the central bank plans to pilot the use of stablecoins in settlements, which is currently in the testing phase.
