Two Russian women have been detained in the United States for three months
According to TASS, two Russian women have been held at the San Diego Immigration Detention Center for several months after being detained for allegedly driving into the U.S. military base at Camp Pendleton in California.
In January this year, the Russian Embassy in the United States confirmed that two Russian citizens were detained in California for "illegal entry" into the military base at Camp Pendleton in California. Media reports indicated that the two women were traveling by car across the United States and may have accidentally entered the military base.
One of the women had entered the United States as early as 2021, and immediately applied for political asylum with U.S. authorities upon arrival. Several years later, she obtained work authorization, which needs to be renewed every few years. The details regarding the other woman's entry into the U.S. have not yet been disclosed.
