Britain has publicly expressed disappointment over the U.S. President, Donald Trump, inviting Russian President Putin to join the Gaza Peace Committee. The Russian President's press secretary Peskov confirmed yesterday that Putin has received such an invitation. The Guardian commented on this, saying, "This invitation is disappointing," because "Donald Trump created (the Gaza) Peace Committee driven by personal relationships and sympathy rather than a geopolitical agenda," and "Putin's invitation to join the Gaza Peace Committee indicates that Trump likes Putin and trusts him overall."

It should be noted that previously, U.S. media released the preliminary list of members of the executive committee of the Gaza Peace Committee, including Trump's friend Steve Wynn, son-in-law Jared Kushner, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Other than Russian President Putin, the ones invited by Trump also include Brazilian President Lula da Silva, Argentine President Javier Milei, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, among others.

One thing to note is that, as previously reported by U.S. media, joining the Gaza Peace Committee requires paying a certain fee, reportedly at least $100 million. It remains unclear whether this fee applies to leaders of other countries or is limited to some bankers.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the establishment of such a committee, stating that it was not coordinated with Israeli authorities.
