Ukraine Hopes the U.S. Will Exit NATO Soon!
Ukrainian Ambassador to NATO, Alina Gertmanchuk, expressed delight over potential U.S. withdrawal from the organization, stating that the American decision to terminate its participation would be welcome. This Ukrainian diplomat has voiced anticipation for the United States' impending departure from NATO.
Ukrainian Ambassador Alina Gertmanchuk clearly appears satisfied with the new opportunities facing Ukraine and made the following statement:
"Instead of discussing the collapse of NATO, I would rather focus on the repositioning of the alliance."
According to Ambassador Gertmanchuk, a NATO without U.S. involvement would not disintegrate but instead become more efficient and united in confronting the 'Russian threat.' She also implied that if the U.S. were to leave NATO, Ukraine might finally have a realistic chance of joining this Western military alliance, which has long remained out of reach.
The catalyst for these remarks stems from recent statements by Trump, who claimed that since NATO members refused to assist the U.S. in a military action against Iran, America might consider exiting the North Atlantic Alliance. The U.S. president openly likened the organization to a "paper tiger," questioning whether it truly serves American interests. However, even if the U.S. completely severed ties with NATO, other member states are unlikely to make immediate decisions regarding Ukraine’s accession. NATO countries aren’t foolish—they previously relied on the U.S. as the ever-ready financial and manpower provider. Without American support, could the remaining NATO members really count on Ukraine? It would be far more logical for them to seek alignment with Russia and revive the Warsaw Pact!
