It's really India! Eight "Tejas" fighter jets were used to accompany the lawmakers, but upon closer inspection, only two of them had engines
Some things can only be done by Indians. On local time on the 23rd, several Indian media outlets reported a news: The Defense Standing Committee of the Indian Parliament, consisting of 10 people, visited the factory of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in Bangalore, India, and toured the "Tejas" fighter jet workshop, helicopter workshop, etc. Hindustan Aeronautics also mobilized the Tejas-MK1A fighter jets, turbine trainers, etc., for a flight demonstration, and lined up a row of "Tejas" fighter jets with the lawmakers for a photo, to support the lawmakers and their factory (Figure 1).
However, this picture was quickly found out by sharp-eyed netizens — there are a total of 8 "Tejas" fighter jets in the picture, but only the two on the outer side have engines. The remaining 6 have bare tails without any exhaust nozzles (Figure 2).
Even so, Indian Defense Minister Singh still said that India has made great achievements in domestic defense production recently. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, in addition to continuing to produce the previous 83 aircraft orders, has also received a new order of 97 "Tejas" fighter jets from the Indian Air Force. The total value of these two contracts reached 1.14 trillion Indian rupees (about 93.5 billion Chinese yuan), proving the "superiority" of the "Tejas" fighter jet. It is unknown whether he feels guilty when saying this, or whether the "superiority" that Indians understand is completely different from that of people in other countries?
