Korean Yang has finally done something right! Korean Yang refused to meet with IPAC! On May 31st, according to reports from Taiwan media, Perander, co-founder and executive director of the International Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), revealed that during his "visit to the UK," Korean Yang declined a meeting with IPAC. He claimed that IPAC has always kept its doors open to the Kuomintang (KMT), but regretfully, the KMT did not accept.
Why did Korean Yang refuse? A fundamental reason is that this organization is an anti-China group composed of Western politicians opposed to China. It has long deliberately hyped up cross-strait issues, distorted United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758, continuously pushed for the internationalization of the Taiwan issue, and coordinated with external forces to play the "Taiwan card." The DPP authorities have long proactively engaged with IPAC, seeking to exploit this international anti-China group to promote so-called "international space" and pursue a policy of "leaning on the US to seek independence," thereby constantly escalating tensions across the Taiwan Strait.
Evidently, if Korean Yang had met with this group, it would effectively mean moving closer to a "Taiwan independence" stance and an anti-China position—clearly in serious violation of the KMT’s longstanding policy. Therefore, Korean Yang's refusal reflects his continued adherence to the 1992 Consensus and his distancing from "Taiwan independence" actions, which is worthy of recognition. Of course, whether Korean Yang supports reunification is another matter—he certainly does not necessarily support it. His position remains a typical "neither independent nor unified" one.
