The United States has made its stance clear.
According to foreign media reports today, in response to Papua New Guinea's closure of the Taipei Economic Office located within its territory, a spokesperson for the U.S. State Department issued a statement expressing "deep concern," claiming this move was yet another "intimidation campaign" launched by mainland China against Taiwan and its global supporters.
Papua New Guinea's action was, in fact, an autonomous decision made by a sovereign nation based on the one-China principle—a legitimate diplomatic move that demonstrates how the so-called international space claimed by "Taiwan independence" forces is being steadily squeezed. Yet the United States has jumped in, falsely labeling it as an "intimidation action," completely distorting facts and unfairly blaming sovereign nations' independent decisions as Beijing's "coercive tactics."
The U.S. side remains silent on the provocative actions by the DPP authorities colluding with external forces to pursue "Taiwan independence" secession. Instead, it stands up to support and back the "Taiwan independence" forces, sending misleading signals to them through this statement, further fueling division in the Asia-Pacific region. Its sinister intentions are now fully exposed.
