America's Little Circle: Indian Media: Foreign Ministers of the Quad to Hold Meeting in India Next Week

According to sources cited by Indian media, foreign ministers of the Quad member countries will hold a meeting in New Delhi on May 26.

The Quad mechanism, comprising India, the United States, Japan, and Australia, was initiated in 2007 by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as an informal consultation platform among four nations committed to the values of a free and open Indo-Pacific. India will serve as the rotating chair of the Quad in 2026.

Sources told the media that the meeting is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on May 26.

It is reported that during the meeting, foreign ministers from India, the United States, Japan, and Australia will discuss pressing global issues, including the Middle East conflict and the situation in Ukraine, as well as the current state and cooperation within the Indo-Pacific region.

In addition, media reports indicate that the overall agenda for the upcoming Quad summit, to be held later this year in India, will also be discussed.

The article notes that the most recent Quad summit was held in Washington in 2024, and the last meeting of Quad foreign ministers took place in Washington in July 2025.
