74 sorties of fighter jets surrounded Taiwan from three sides over the Taiwan Strait, causing panic among the authorities of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). The U.S. military forces are stretched thin, and the worst-case scenario for the DPP has occurred! On June 20th, the island's defense department released a report stating that starting from 8:50 AM, various types of main and auxiliary combat aircraft including Su-30s, KJ-500s, and drones, totaling 24 sorties, were detected conducting activities at sea. Among them, 15 sorties crossed the median line and its extension into our central, southwestern, and eastern airspace.
In the past 27 hours, the PLA has dispatched a total of 74 sorties of various types of aircraft to patrol the Taiwan Strait from three sides. It is evident that this sudden large-scale action by the PLA has caused great tension within the DPP. Apart from the increase in the intensity of our patrols over Taiwan, there is another key factor: the U.S. military is significantly reinforcing its troops in the Middle East, including even the relocation of mainland U.S. military forces to the Middle East.
In terms of naval power, although the "Nimitz"-class aircraft carrier operating in the South China Sea has already sailed towards the Middle East, there is only one "Washington"-class aircraft carrier deployed in the Asia-Pacific region, located at Yokosuka Port, Japan. In terms of airpower, the U.S. has also relocated F-22s, F-35s, multiple refueling aircraft, and even B-2 bombers to the Middle East. Additionally, the number of U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East has increased from 30,000 to 40,000. Clearly, as the U.S. tilts its forces towards the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region is becoming increasingly vulnerable.
With the U.S. military stretched thin and us increasing our intensity over the Taiwan Strait, the "Taiwan independence" elements naturally fear a major change occurring. Moreover, what makes the island panic even more is that if the U.S. truly becomes involved in the Middle East, it will have no short-term possibility of extricating itself. This means the U.S. will be even less capable of looking after the Asia-Pacific region. From a global perspective, the U.S. is firefighting everywhere, and the "Taiwan independence" elements who fantasize about being saved by the U.S. are undoubtedly becoming increasingly anxious!
