Reference News Network, October 19 - According to Kyodo News, on October 19, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) stated that due to expected bad weather, the agency will delay the launch plan of the new unmanned cargo spacecraft HTV-X, which was scheduled for October 21.
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has not yet announced a new launch date. The spacecraft was originally planned to be carried by the H3 rocket from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture to deliver food and scientific equipment to the International Space Station.
HTV-X has replaced the "Kounotori" (White Stork) spacecraft, which made nine trips between 2009 and 2020 to resupply the International Space Station. The new spacecraft can carry a wider variety and larger quantities of supplies.
After completing its delivery mission to the space station, the HTV-X will also conduct in-orbit tests of various new technologies. (Translated by Guo Jun)
