Foreign Media: Chinese scientists have proposed a new manufacturing method for composite materials, which could significantly enhance the structural strength and reliability of drones, aircraft, and spacecraft. This method improves balanced ply technology—stacking fiber layers symmetrically and at opposite angles to minimize internal stresses—increasing the strength of composite materials by up to 26%.

Moreover, this advancement has improved joint performance by 13% and reduced curing deformation during manufacturing, thereby minimizing production errors that could lead to defects. This progress offers greater design flexibility for aerospace applications, particularly crucial in designing high-precision components such as fuselages, wings, and load-bearing panels.

According to a statement released by the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences on March 9, this technique reduces curing deformation, decreasing distortion in the production process and providing more design options for aerospace applications, further advancing technological development.
