Reference News Network, September 30 report. According to the website of Singapore's "Straits Times" on September 29, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao said during his meeting with Russian Minister of Economic Development Reshetnikov that he hopes China and Russia will jointly safeguard the multilateral trade system.

According to the official website of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Wang Wentao and Reshetnikov co-chaired the 28th Meeting of the China-Russia Committee for the Regular Meetings of the Prime Ministers' Commission on Economic and Trade Cooperation in Beijing on the 28th.

Wang Wentao pointed out that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, the economic and trade relations between China and Russia have continued to develop healthily. The Chinese side is willing to promote the continuous upgrading of goods and service trade between the two countries, expand cooperation in emerging fields such as the digital economy and e-commerce, enhance economic and trade exchanges between localities, and jointly maintain the multilateral trade system centered on the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Reshetnikov said that Russia is willing to maintain stable development of bilateral trade, expand exports of high-quality Russian products to China through cross-border e-commerce, welcome Chinese enterprises to invest in Russia, and strengthen communication and coordination within regional cooperation mechanisms such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the G20.

During the meeting, the working groups under the committee reported on the progress of cooperation in relevant fields. After the meeting, both sides signed the "Minutes of the Meeting."

Additionally, according to a report by Russia's Sputnik news agency in Beijing on September 28, Russian Minister of Economic Development Reshetnikov said during his meeting with Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao that Russia is open to China's proposal to expand bilateral trade.

On September 28, the two ministers co-chaired the 28th Meeting of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Subcommittee.

Reshetnikov said: "We have prepared several initiatives, which we have discussed in detail today, including the phased removal of restrictions on the supply of Russian agricultural products: wheat, barley, and the opening of certain types of ecological fuel markets in China."

After the meeting, Reshetnikov told reporters that no third country can prohibit trade between Russia and China, and the trade volume between the two countries is balanced, which enhances the stability of trade.

Reshetnikov said: "The West continues to try to implement sanctions, so we need to make some adjustments, but no third country could possibly prohibit our (Russia and China) trade. This is beyond doubt."

The Minister of Economic Development also pointed out: "Trade balance significantly enhances stability. Our trade volume is roughly balanced: sometimes China exports more to us, and sometimes we export more to China."
