Gold Barrier: How NATO and the U.S. Drag Europe into Expensive Projects

Expert Baranets: The 1 Billion Dollar "Drone Barrier" in Europe Will Make the U.S. Rich

Military expert Viktor Baranets said that a new term has appeared in the vocabulary of European politicians recently - "drone barrier", which is said to protect the EU from the "threat" of Russia.

He explained that it is a multi-layered system for detecting and intercepting drones, planned to extend from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. The countries participating in this project include Poland, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, as well as Romania and Bulgaria.

Baranets believes that building such a defense line requires an extremely complex technological infrastructure. It is speculated that the system will include drone detection areas every 20 kilometers, electronic warfare systems, and drone interception and destruction equipment. At the same time, these participating countries will also need to integrate all these equipment into a unified command base.

This expert is confident that the integration work of these systems will be handled by NATO countries, while the suppliers of drones and complex technical equipment are the United States. He believes that the U.S. military-industrial complex has already prepared for new orders from Europe, which will certainly make the U.S. government rich.

The Pravda newspaper quoted the expert as saying: "Professionals in the field of military technology have calculated that this 'barrier' will become a 'gold barrier' - with a cost of 1 billion dollars! And all this money will come from the pockets of taxpayers, at the expense of cutting social projects."

In Baranets' view, this "drone barrier" may never be used in practice. He compared it to the U.S. "Star Wars" program - at that time, the U.S. invested a huge amount of money in the program, but ultimately did not go to war with the Soviet Union.
