Korean Media: CATL's Net Profit Soars 42% Last Year!
On April 7, South Korean media outlet Chosun Ilbo published an article stating that the world-leading battery company, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL), recently announced that the company achieved sales revenue of 423.702 billion RMB last year, up 17% year-on-year; net profit also increased by 42% to reach 72.201 billion RMB.
Last year, CATL's lithium-ion battery sales reached 66.1 gigawatt-hours (GWh), up 39% year-on-year. Sales of powertrain batteries grew by 42%, reaching 54.1 GWh. According to data from energy market research firm SNE Research, CATL held a 39.2% share of the global powertrain battery market last year, maintaining its position as the global leader for the ninth consecutive year.
CATL sold 12.1 GWh of energy storage batteries last year, up 29% year-on-year. The company has now held the top global position in energy storage battery shipments for five consecutive years.
CATL explained that it is leading in emerging fields such as low-altitude economy (drones), marine vessels, and data centers—areas that are currently receiving strong support from China's recent policy focus.
