Danish Prime Minister: Denmark is willing to discuss Arctic security issues
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on Thursday that Denmark is prepared to engage in dialogue on Arctic security issues, provided the other party respects Denmark's territorial integrity.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated on Tuesday that he did not discuss the issue of Greenland's territorial sovereignty during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Reuters quoted Frederiksen as saying: "The Kingdom of Denmark hopes to continue constructive dialogue with its allies on how we can strengthen security in the Arctic, including the U.S. 'GMD' missile defense system, provided that this is done while respecting our territorial integrity."
