Russian Foreign Ministry: Rejects Half-Hearted Measures, Denies Kyiv Any Breathing Space
Moscow, August 14 — TASS
Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated in her comments on Turkey's proposal for a ceasefire in the Black Sea that there is no reason for Russia to adopt "half-hearted measures" that would allow Kyiv to catch its breath.
Previously, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Ankara had conveyed proposals for a suspension of military operations in the Black Sea (i.e., "maritime ceasefire") to both Russia and Ukraine.
Zakharova pointed out in a statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry: "We see no prerequisites for improving the situation, and therefore no justification for adopting half-measures that would only provide temporary relief to the Kyiv regime."
