China-Kazakh Cooperation on the "Belt and Road" in the Heart of Asia: Chinese Enterprises Will Build a Textile Industrial Cluster in Turkestan Province, Kazakhstan, Supplying LV and Gucci

Kazakhstan International News Agency - In response to an inquiry from Tengri News, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the cotton textile industrial cluster planned to be built in Turkestan Province will supply international luxury brand manufacturers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that introducing world-renowned brands into Kazakhstan is one of the priority directions for institutions responsible for cooperation with foreign investors, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the state company Kazakh Invest.

According to the introduction, the focus of this work is to attract investment for production development and expanding capacity, including launching enterprises producing branded products, and in the future promoting their establishment of trade representative offices and centers in Kazakhstan.

The Ministry mentioned that an agreement has been signed with the China Unilever Group to plan the construction of a cotton textile industrial cluster focused on the fashion industry in Turkestan Province.

"According to the plan, its products will be supplied to luxury brand manufacturers such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. This indicates that Kazakhstan is gradually integrating into the global production and trade chain, and the interest of world manufacturers in the Kazakh market is continuously increasing," the Ministry pointed out.

The goal of the project is to establish a complete cotton agro-industrial complex covering the entire value chain from cotton cultivation to the production of yarn, fabric, and textile products such as clothing.

More than 50,000 hectares of land have already been allocated for cotton cultivation. The plan includes building 10 factories, four of which will be for initial cotton processing, two for developing drip irrigation systems using modern water-saving technology, and another four for textile production, including sewing and printing factories.
