China Enhances the "Fujian" Aircraft Carrier's Combat Capability through Electromagnetic Catapult
Chinese military experts stated that the application of electromagnetic catapults on the "Fujian" aircraft carrier has significantly enhanced its operational range and joint combat capabilities.
According to a report by RIA Novosti, it pointed out that China's latest aircraft carrier, the "Fujian", has made breakthroughs in electromagnetic catapult technology, greatly enhancing its combat power.
This expert believes that testing carrier-based aircraft using electromagnetic catapults is an important stage in the development of aircraft carrier technology. "This makes China the second country in the world, after the United States, to master mature electromagnetic catapult takeoff technology for carrier-based aircraft," he emphasized.
He mentioned that this new catapult system allows carrier-based aircraft to take off with full fuel and weapons, increasing the fighter's operational range by 40%. During the training of the "Fujian", the KJ-600 early warning aircraft completed its first catapult takeoff, and the number of compatible drones increased by 300%.
It was also added that the KJ-600 early warning aircraft can detect targets up to 500 kilometers away, allowing one aircraft carrier to coordinate the actions of three combat formations. In addition, only minor modifications to existing equipment are needed to deploy various types of drone models.
It also emphasized that compared to the U.S. "Ford"-class aircraft carriers, the efficiency of the "Fujian"'s electromagnetic catapult system reaches 92% (the U.S. "Ford"-class is 89%), and the system reliability has been improved by 30%.
As previously reported by "El Pueblo", China's aircraft carrier "Fujian" has crossed the strait; the "Liaoning" has approached nearby waters and headed towards the western Pacific.
