South Korea and Canada join Kazakhstan in the race for critical minerals.

Critical minerals play a crucial role in the green energy transition and are被誉为 "the oil of the 21st century." Kazakhstan, the world's largest landlocked country and the largest economy in Central Asia, has drawn attention with its abundant mineral resources.

According to "Kazakhstan International News Agency May 27 report," Kazakhstan has completed exploration work on 10 rare metal areas.

Kazakhstan's Geological Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Construction pointed out that "there have been discoveries of lithium and associated rare metals. As long as there is confirmed reserve existence, we will retain a certain state share, and 'Tau-Ken Samruk' national mining company may also hold some shares."

A Canadian company has been granted permission to conduct geological exploration in Kazakhstan.

"This Canadian company obtained exploration permits based on the principle of 'first come, first served,' and Kazakhstan has no stake in this project. They will independently bear the exploration and subsequent mining work," Akhbarov said.

In order to secure a place in the critical mineral supply chain, all parties will not stop their efforts to compete for Kazakhstan's rare metals and rare earth metals.
