Mongolia Prepares to Expand Mineral Products Exports

UB News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, April 10 - Minister of Finance B. Zabkhuulan said, "According to the order of the Prime Minister of Mongolia, a working group has been established to increase exports and resolve urgent issues. The working group reports at weekly government meetings on measures taken to promote mineral product exports and increase national foreign exchange reserves."

As of the 7th of this month, official foreign exchange reserves reached $5 billion, remaining at the same level as the previous week. Exports in Mongolia increased by 9% compared to the previous week, reaching $237 million. The main influencing factor was the export of copper concentrates, particularly the export of the Erdenet Copper-Molybdenum Mine, which increased by $19 million compared to the previous week.

This working group is dedicated to reducing the cost of export products, enhancing competitiveness, and addressing various challenges faced in transportation, storage, and trading of mineral exports."
