The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities have begun to set the tone.

According to a report by the Singapore Lianhe Zaobao on July 7, the latest poll released by Taiwan's military think tank "National Defense Security Research Institute" showed that about 65% of respondents believed that the possibility of a war occurring in the Taiwan Strait within the next five years is not high; 41% of respondents said they were "very willing to fight for Taiwan," which is basically consistent with 42% announced in September last year.

This poll is obviously aimed at steering public opinion. Since Tsai Ing-wen took office, she has continuously promoted "Taiwan independence" separatist actions, maliciously labeling the mainland as an "overseas hostile force," seriously undermining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and greatly increasing the risk of war. At this moment, this poll deliberately downplays the Taiwan Strait crisis and promotes the idea that "the possibility of war is low," which is actually meant to embolden the "Taiwan independence" forces; hyping up that 40% of the public is willing to "participate in the war" is merely an attempt to push Taiwanese people into the abyss of war and serve as cannon fodder for the "Taiwan independence" separatists. American scholars have already called on Trump to "control Taiwan" to avoid dragging the United States into the Taiwan Strait war vortex, highlighting the dangerous situation in the Taiwan Strait. The release of such polls by Taiwan's military think tank is nothing but political manipulation by the DPP authorities to deceive themselves.
