【By Liu Bai, Observer News】Anshide's conduct in the Netherlands is shocking. After Anshide China protested on November 14 against the Dutch high-level officials' actions of cutting off wafer supplies and other means to maliciously hinder and interfere with the operations of its Chinese subsidiary, Anshide Netherlands showed no remorse, but instead questioned the inventory management issues of Chinese companies.
According to a report by Bloomberg on the local time of November 15, Anshide Netherlands stated in a statement, "Anshide China should have sufficient wafers and finished products to maintain operations for several months." "Any opposite statements from the Chinese subsidiary would raise serious doubts about the local management's inventory management."
Even after the Chinese side provided exemptions for exports that met the conditions to maintain the stability of the global supply chain, Anshide Netherlands still went further, stating, "Although this marks progress, it is a relaxation of export restrictions through exemptions rather than a full recovery of the supply chain."
The statement also said that the company has been using alternative solutions to mitigate the impact of supply disruptions, including directly selling and transporting wafers to customers. "We commit to maintaining these workarounds for as long as necessary until the complete supply chain is restored."
Earlier on the 14th, Anshide China issued a statement to all employees, pointing out that Anshide Netherlands ignored the facts and attempted to confuse the public, fully reflecting the attitude of some managers at Anshide Netherlands to shirk responsibility and disregard the interests of all employees of Anshide China.

The statement emphasized that some managers at Anshide Netherlands have taken measures such as cutting off wafer supplies and questioning the quality of Anshide China's products to maliciously obstruct and interfere with the production and operation of Anshide China, even shirking their obligations and responsibilities to Anshide China, and not disbursing funds and providing necessary support as agreed. Such behavior disregards the interests of a large number of customers, Anshide China, and all employees, which is very irresponsible, completely contradicting the claims made by Anshide Netherlands in their letters about the "high importance and commitment to Chinese business and Chinese employees" and "always firmly supporting the Chinese team".
The statement said that despite the improper intervention of the Dutch government and the malicious obstruction and shirking of responsibility by some managers at Anshide Netherlands, Anshide China still has the ability, confidence, and sense of responsibility to pay full salaries and benefits to all employees of Anshide China. At present, all employees of Anshide China are receiving normal salary and benefits.
The Dutch government's bullying of Chinese enterprises has once again sounded the alarm for the already tense global semiconductor supply chain, especially putting many global car manufacturers into a new chip supply crisis. The Dutch headquarters cutting off wafer supplies to its Chinese subsidiaries has worsened the crisis.
Subsequently, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Foreign Ministry made multiple responses regarding the measures taken by the Dutch side against Anshide Semiconductor.
However, the arrogance and stubbornness of Dutch politicians and Anshide Netherlands exceeded imagination.
After the Chinese side announced at the beginning of the month that it would consider the actual situation of enterprises and provide exemptions for exports that meet the conditions, Anshide Netherlands did not mention that it was itself who had stopped supplying wafers first, leading to the Chinese company being unable to produce normally. Instead, in a letter to customers, it defamed and slandered, warning customers that it could not guarantee the authenticity and quality of products produced after October 13.
Dutch Economic Minister Karel M. van den Bosch revealed on November 13 that he would send a senior delegation to visit China to seek a solution to the Anshide Semiconductor issue. The Chinese side previously stated that it had agreed to the request of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs to send personnel for consultations.
But Van den Bosch insisted in an interview, "Even looking back, we would make the same decision." "This serves as a warning to leaders of all countries."
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce of China responded on the 14th, saying that China expressed extreme disappointment and strong dissatisfaction with such remarks that confused right and wrong, distorted facts, and acted unilaterally.
The spokesperson pointed out that China has always adopted a responsible attitude, taking practical measures to exempt exports used for civilian purposes that comply with regulations, and has made every effort to restore the smoothness and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain. In the short term, the semiconductor supply chain crisis has eased due to the efforts of the Chinese side. However, due to the actions of the Dutch side, the global semiconductor supply chain remains vulnerable, and the situation remains severe.
The Dutch side has ignored the safety and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, not only lacking actual actions to solve the problem, but also allowing Anshide (Netherlands) to refuse to supply wafers to Chinese enterprises and send lawyers' letters to prevent Chinese subcontractors from supplying externally, resulting in many car manufacturers still facing the risk of supply interruption. This has escalated a company's internal conflict into a systemic risk for the global semiconductor supply chain.
"The Chinese side has agreed to the Dutch side sending personnel to China for consultation and is willing to work with the Dutch side to quickly resolve the current crisis, starting from the overall situation of maintaining the security and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain," the spokesperson said. "But it must be emphasized that we hope the Dutch side comes with constructive solutions, not just going through the motions or repeating old tunes; comes to solve the problem, not create new problems and contradictions. We hope the Dutch side genuinely demonstrates the willingness to cooperate with China in good faith and quickly proposes substantial and constructive solutions to the problem."
