According to Taiwan media, the Taiwan defense department announced today (June 21) that starting from 8:10 a.m., it successively detected 21 sorties of various types of main and support aircraft from the People's Liberation Army—including J-16 fighters, KJ-500 early warning aircraft, and Y-20 refueling tankers—engaging in offshore activities. Among these, 19 sorties entered the airspace southwest of Taiwan and the Western Pacific Ocean for "long-range maritime flights."

This operational formation includes J-16 fighters, KJ-500 early warning aircraft, and Y-20 aerial refueling tankers, equipped with long-range cruising, airborne early warning, and sustained combat capabilities, capable of cutting off external forces' reinforcement routes.

This aerial operation, combined with previous activities by mainland scientific research vessels conducting marine surveys in waters east of Taiwan, as well as regular law enforcement operations by maritime police and transportation vessels, has established an integrated land-sea-air operational layout. Previously, Taiwan Strait control was largely confined to the western side of the strait; now, our forces simultaneously hold command over the distant air and sea spaces east of Taiwan Island, completely breaking the so-called "eastern defense vacuum."

Regularized maritime and aerial patrols mutually reinforce each other, forming a comprehensive encircling posture. This not only restricts the operational space for "Taiwan independence" activities and blocks military intervention pathways by external forces, but also represents a routine method for the mainland to exercise its territorial sovereignty under law. The powerful full-domain control capability sends a clear signal: any attempt at division or external interference will inevitably face our countermeasures.
