Reference News, December 15 report: According to TASS on December 14, Russian President's Assistant Yuri Ushakov said that Moscow has not yet seen the proposals put forward by the EU and Ukraine regarding the US peace plan, but their contributions to the process of resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict may not be constructive.
"I think neither the Ukrainians nor the Europeans have made constructive contributions to this document, which is precisely the problem," Ushakov emphasized when answering a question from journalist Pavel Zarubin, "We have not seen it yet."
He added that if proposals from Kyiv and Brussels regarding mediation of the Ukrainian crisis are included in the peace plan, Moscow will raise strong objections.
He emphasized: "If corresponding amendments are made, we will express quite strong objections, because we have clearly stated our position."
Ushakov said that the strong objections could "involve multiple issues." "There will be some clauses that we cannot accept at all, including territorial issues," he pointed out.
Ushakov concluded: "In short, we have had active discussions in Moscow regarding territorial issues. The Americans know and also understand our position. I don't know what they will write in the document after these consultations. But it's unlikely to be anything good." (Translated by Tong Shiqun)
