How on earth did our university admit such a garbage, and allow it to hide here for over a decade, repeatedly reported for harassing female students? On July 23, China handed over Daniel Hills, a fugitive convicted of murdering his wife and sexually assaulting a minor girl, to U.S. diplomatic security officers, thus bringing an end to his more than ten years of blissful life in China.
Daniel Hills was born in 1972 in South Carolina, USA. He served as a local police officer for 11 years. While involved in a relationship with a single mother, he was arrested multiple times for sexually assaulting her 10-year-old daughter. While out on bail awaiting trial, he murdered his wife and fled. Subsequently, he drove to China, assumed the alias William, and lived under the radar for years, eventually being hired by East China Normal University as an English language teaching assistant.
Due to his striking resemblance to actor Matt Damon and his outstanding appearance, he became very popular among female students. Afterward, multiple students revealed his chaotic private life—frequent dates with female students and harassment toward women. It's clear that this scum must have preyed upon countless female students at East China Normal University. Just thinking about it makes one heartbroken.
The issue raises serious questions for Chinese society: companies employing foreign nationals should conduct thorough background checks on these individuals. We must not allow such garbage into our country.
