[Text/Observer Network Chen Sijia] Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk have had a fierce quarrel, attracting widespread attention. Dmitry Medvedev, vice-chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, also "entertained himself" on the social platform X, claiming that Russia is willing to mediate for a fee.

Medvedev wrote on the X platform: "We are ready to facilitate a peace agreement between D (Donald Trump) and E (Elon Musk), charge reasonable fees, and accept 'Starlink' shares as payment. Stop fighting, guys!"

Elon Musk's "Starlink" is currently providing services for Ukraine. The BBC pointed out earlier that since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, the Ukrainian army has been using "Starlink" terminals, which have become the "pillar" of Ukraine's military operations.

Since Musk left the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) in late May, his relationship with Trump has deteriorated rapidly. Recently, Musk has repeatedly criticized the "Big and Beautiful" bill proposed by Republicans, questioning that this bill aimed at cutting taxes and welfare will increase the federal deficit. Previously, the bill narrowly passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by one vote margin.

On June 5th, Trump confirmed the deterioration of their relationship, saying he was "very disappointed" in Musk, "My relationship with Elon is good. But I don't know if it will be like this in the future." This statement immediately infuriated Musk, one of the most important financial backers of the Republican Party in the 2024 U.S. election. He posted on the X platform, accusing Trump of being "ungrateful."

As Trump and Musk completely fell out, their social media feud quickly escalated. Trump harshly criticized Musk on his self-created social platform "Truth Social," threatening to terminate Musk's government subsidies and contracts.

"Elon is 'wearing thin,' so I told him to pack up and leave," Trump said, "I canceled the order requiring everyone to buy electric vehicles that no one wanted (and he knew about it months ago), and then he went crazy."

Musk, in turn, responded on all his X platforms, stating that Trump's name "appeared in the Epstein file," and that was the "real reason" why the file was not released.

However, CNN pointed out that Musk provided no evidence and did not explain where he saw these unpublished documents. Having someone's name appear in files related to the Epstein case does not mean they are accused of any wrongdoing.

Musk also severely criticized Trump's tariff policies, saying they "will lead to an economic recession in the U.S. in the second half of this year."

In response to Trump's threat to terminate government contracts, Musk replied: "In light of the president's statement about canceling my government contracts, SpaceX will immediately begin retiring the 'Dragon' spacecraft." In recent years, the International Space Station has relied on manned 'Dragon' spacecraft and cargo 'Dragon' spacecraft to maintain its supply and operation. Retiring this spacecraft will make the International Space Station dependent on Russian spacecraft.

Axios News Network in the United States pointed out that during the previous six months, Trump and Musk maintained a basically harmonious relationship. But now, with their public falling out, the "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) coalition is under immense pressure to take sides.
