Major General Vladimir Alekseyev, First Deputy Director of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Russian General Staff, has regained consciousness after being attacked and is currently under 24-hour medical supervision.

On the morning of February 6, an unidentified person shot the first deputy director of the GRU at a residential building on the Volokolamsk Highway in Moscow, then fled the scene.

Alekseyev was urgently taken to the hospital. According to sources, this former special forces soldier showed courage, responding promptly to the attack, thus avoiding a fatal injury: two bullets hit his chest, and one hit his limbs.
