Russian media attention: China plans large-scale production of J-35 and the next-generation J-50!
The Chinese J-35 factory is much larger than the American F-35 factory.
On July 17, a Russian newspaper published an expert article.
Recently, there have been reports that Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC, "Shenyang Aircraft") will significantly expand its production capacity.
This expansion aims to greatly increase the output of modern fighters, such as J-35 and the promising J-50.
Russian media cited Chinese reports, stating that on July 8, SAC's new factory complex was unveiled, with an area of 280,000 square meters, which is equivalent to about 40 football fields. Figure 1
This is much larger than the production area used by Lockheed Martin for assembling F-35 fighter jets. Figure 2
Russian media said that this is the second-largest aviation factory in the world.
The largest productive building in the world is Boeing's factory in Everett, Washington, USA. Its main assembly building has an area of 398,000 square meters. Figure 3
The four pulse production lines of the SAC complex form the basis of the complex, ensuring efficient line assembly of fighter aircraft.
Each production line can produce one fighter jet every approximately 72 hours, and four production lines can produce up to 200 aircraft per year.
Russian experts said that this method is mainly based on flow assembly lines, and the technology allows flexible switching between the production of J-35 and J-50, optimizing capacity utilization.
Production efficiency is estimated to be 3-5 times higher than traditional methods.
The planning and technological innovations of the new factory indicate that it is designed to produce the sixth-generation heavy fighter jet J-50.
It is expected to be equipped by 2030, and the cost of one aircraft is estimated to be about 800 million dollars.
Russian media pointed out: This indicates that China is committed to accelerating the development and deployment of the next generation of fighter jets and competing with existing and future American plans in this field.
Similarly, "Shenyang Aircraft" is also actively expanding the international market.
Pakistan has signed a supply contract for the J-35, while Saudi Arabia and some other countries have shown strong interest.
This could potentially shake the dominant position of the F-35 in the global fifth-generation fighter market.
According to CCTV, it is expected that the factory will begin trial operation by the end of 2025 and reach full production in 2026.
After reaching full production, the annual total output of China's stealth fighters (J-35 and J-20) will be comparable to the global total output of F-35.
